But who was Pessoa?

Fernando Pessoa was one of these writers who dedicated all his life to his work. He worked as an official, he didn't have much friends and he had just one love (and he wrote to her that literature was the only thing that was important for him). To be honest, his existence was quite boring. However, if he didn't succed in life, he succed in art. He triumphed over his social defeat and became popular all over the word (unfortunatelly, the great deal of his writings was published after he died). However, he achieve the tops of literature. Nowadays everybody who visits Lisbon takes a photo with his natural size sculpture in front of Brasileira (a café where he probably used to spend his time) and his fame flourishes in the lights of cameras.

Once upon a time when I was travelling by train, I had very interesting meeting. I was looking for my friend that was already sitting down in the compartment. It was quite crowdy: a lot of football supporters were going for a game. My friend was in a compartment with two guys with scarfs in national colours, in special T-shirts and drinking beer (supporters, not my friend). I appeared holding a book in my hand. I said hallo to Camila and then one of this guys asked me about the book. I don't have a habit to judge peoples during firts meeting. However, what I could thought... But I just gently said the name of the writer and the tittle of the book and I turned back to Camila. But the guy wanted to continue our conversation and he answered 'this one, I don't know'. Obviously. And then It was a portuguese writer, not very famous one. But then he added: 'but if you like portuguese litterature, I reccomend you Fernando Pessoa'. I was so schocked that I couldn't close my mouth. How he could know Pessoa? His quite famous as a writer but.. I looked on Camila: as schocked as me. Then another guy (a friend of the first one, following sleep with a beer in his hand) that obviously needed to notice my open mouth, said to me: 'What? With national T-shirt, it needs to be an idiot?' I said that NO. Of course, no. And I closed my mouth. And we started to talk about Gombrowicz, Pilch... Both of them have really amazing knowledge. After a while, my astonishment was replaced by admiration. What a lesson!

I 'm not a big fan of
cooking. However I love to make sweets: every kind of cakes, cookies,
desserts. I like to experiment so always when I found an interesting
recipy, I keep it. I have also a few „specialties” that I make
sistematicly, from time to time. One of them is a french dessert
tarte au chocolat. This
pastery has 2 principal advantages: 1.it' s very easy 2. it can easly
impress every awkward customer.

The
recipy is quite elastic. I mean – you can sucessfully prepare your
own varation.

Firstly
you prepare a raw cake – you can buy it or you can do it yourself
(with yolks, cube of butter, flour, sugar and a bit of salt). You put
the cake to the oven and bake separately, without filling. In a
saucepan you prepare a chocolate. You melt a dark chocolate with
cream. Good proportion is 3 bars of chocolate for a half of glass of
cream. The rest up to you: you can add for exemple some confiture, orange zest,
dried fruit or 2 spoons of your favorite liquor. Voilà! :D

My childhood.

How it was?Things used to be better. I know that it sounds like postcomunisme nostalgic elder man... but this is objectively true.

Objectively, from my point of vew, my childhood was much more interesting then childhood of MODERN children. No mobile, no laptop, a bit of TV games and soap operas. However I didn't have to much time for TV. I needed to go out, to play basketball, make a tour with my rollers or at least have a walk.
When it was raining, I had a lot of interesting books for read.

However the best activities were during school break. We were playing cards, "playing the gum" ("w gumę") and, the most important, exchanging the little cards. Everybody has his own collection. At the beginning, we were collecting little cards, like taken from nice notebook with draws:

When I was a bit elder, it was more fancy to collect biggest, that you could put into segregator:

It was also good opportunity for develop some personal skills, for exemple, learn how to negociate - sometimes I was participating in business meeting, for exchange the most preciouses parts of my collection not just with my classmates but with children from elder classes.

For summarize, in my childhood I had plenty of activities. I needed to be active and creative and I loved that.
